Isn’t Halloween the most inspiring season for embroidery?

I never know though, if I should talk about my patterns way before Halloween, so you have time to stitch your pieces and get them ready to decor your home, but at the same time, let's be realistic, observing the world and our crazy life, any cross stitch pattern you'll pick today will be ready, luckily, for next year.

I can't find time to cross stitch, but my body needs it a lot lately. It's getting colder, I have already started to make fire even if it is not reasonable. I can feel the call.

I had a visit at my focus retreat some days ago (yes, I have been building a focus retreat: a place to create, reset, observe nature, stay in silence, take decisions, etc. so my hands are keeping busy in some way) and while we were filming a music video in the woods, she said:

I NEED TO KNIT RIGHT NOW
— Lola J. Espejo

And that’s what she did: as soon as we got home, lit the fire and an episode of The Office (again), she could knit almost in the dark with a cat on her lap. I was so jealous! I wish I could stitch in the dark, I would for sure do it way more!

Anyway. I am not starting a new hobby I promise, I want to focus on creating the next The Office Advent Calendar and it will be free to follow and I WILL make time to stitch it everyday (she believes strongly in herself).

I have already blocked the time in my calendar for it. I have created cross stitch advent calendars for some years now (remember Santa Bond, Dwight’s pathetic Christmas dolls, Kevin on Santa or Pam’s teapot?) and I am not sure what to create for the next edition (that’s why I’m studying The Office again) but for sure I want to follow it this time. I find a great satisfaction in making myself a promise and keep it. I am, for the first time ever, at day 22 of Inktober and waking up knowing my most important task of the day is to draw is just… incredible.

So, I wish you find time to cross stitch and maybe you are a super embroidery hero and can have one done for this year but meanwhile, have a great end of October. Can’t wait to see some Beetlejuice appearing on my feed again.
